2022 seems to be the year of Ye and Demna. They have broken the internet with YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga. Both of them also have their own hottest brands on the planet, and they are also best buddies. The news of Creative Exploration led to a new era for high-low luxury tie-ups.

“YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga” is a step beyond YEEZY GAP, which is more impactful than fast-fashion-meets-luxury events that were held previously. This collab has shock drops of perfect hoodies and round jackets. The YEEZY GAP products are made distinct by branding as well as imitable colours, shapes, and cuts.
As you might have guessed, YEEZY GAP is not priced like typical diffusion fare. It retails for more than usual GAP goods ($90 for hoodies or $200 for jackets).
There is no doubt about the fact that “YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga” is a totally different animal. It has three different partners involved and is more of a creative exchange that is marked by the legacy of Demna and Ye.
Ye has been doing well in progressive fashion as he has associated with brands like Maison Margiela and Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta. He is now the creative director of Demna and wears Balenciaga too often.
YEEZY GAP x Balenciaga is more of a celebration of Demna and Ye’s friendship. It is expected to be launched in 2022, but the official release date isn’t out yet.
No one has any idea what the drops will deliver. There is no doubt that the two BFFs will be at the centre of it all. We are guessing that the collection will include slouchy layering pieces like oversized puffy jackets and drop-shoulder shirts. They will likely be free from ostentatious logos.
Usually, when two cool dudes meet up or hang out, they talk about sports or politics. Demna and Ye apparently plot how to dominate the fashion industry and how to get involved in more collections like YEEZY GAP. Like many of their fans, we can’t wait to see what they come up with this time.
