The past few weeks have been quite surprise-filled for the movie buffs. First, they were impressed by the Avengers: Endgame trailer, then they heard that Idris Elba would replace Will Smith in the Suicide Squad sequel and now they will get to see Joaquin Phoenix as the new Joker. If you are also a movie buff and you want to know whether Joaquin Phoenix has nailed the character or not, then you should know that the actor has once again proven that he can portray deeply broken figures with perfection.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding how Joaquin Phoenix will perform the role of the joker and fans have been looking eagerly at leaked photos for months. The wait of the fans has ended as the first glimpse of the film has been released. The story of the film revolves around Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix who has to deal with a lot and is heading towards a mental collapse.

In the brief glimpse, fans can also see Zazie Beetz as Sophie, the love interest of Arthur and Shea Whigham who plays the role of a stern-faced police officer. There are also many glimpses of clown make-up. Though the other actors are good, the performance delivered by Joaquin Phoenix brilliantly stands out.

A lot of hard work has gone in to create the movie, and Beetz confirmed it earlier this year when she said that the script was rewritten during the shooting process. Sometimes the script was rewritten even on the day of the shoot.

One line that got everybody’s attention during the trailer is when Joaquin Phoenix says that he used to think that his life was a tragedy, but now he has realized that it’s a comedy.

The Joker was the first villain in the first Batman comic that was released in 1940, and he has still got it in him to make things difficult for the superhero.

The trailer and Joaquin Phoenix’s performance have also made the fans feel something for the Joker they have never felt before, Sympathy. It will surely be interesting to see whether the character deserves the sympathy or not when the film hits the theatres on October 4.
