The 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S has been updated, meaning that it can now achieve 0-200km/h in just 9.6 seconds — faster than the previous edition by 0.2 seconds.

Porsche has also managed to make sure that the 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S can hit this sprint over and over again, no matter how many times you utilise the launch control. Furthermore, the new variant will cover a quarter-mile charge in just 10.7 seconds — to put that into perspective, a Lamborghini Aventador SV is just a bit faster, with a quater-mile sprint in 10.4 seconds.

Elsewhere, across the range, a colour-customisable head-up display is now an offered option where Sat-nav instructions, power output, as well as the usual speed reading could be accessed from that feature.

For adaptive air suspension models, a new Smartlift function allows the Taycan to automatically raise suspension in certain locations, like speed bumps or driveways.

Other optional features include an onboard 22kWH AC charger that can charge the batteries twice as fast than a standard model, and a selection of new colours. The new colour options include “Mahogany Metallic,” “Frozenberry Metallic,” “Coffee Beige Metallic,” “Chalk,” “Neptune Blue,” “Cherry Metallic,” and “Ice Grey Metallic” for exterior colors, as well as a “Blackberry” leather interior colour option.

Other extras include Active Lane Keep Assist and Porsche’s InnoDrive semi-autonomous cruise control for $32 AUD a month or $1330 AUD lifetime.

Another new update is a “Plug & Charge” feature for some markets, which makes charging more convenient as you will no longer need to transact with cards or use an app. Instead, you can just insert the charging cable from a compatible “Plug & Charge” station and your all-electric Taycan will establish an encrypted communication with the machine, starting the charging and process the payment instantly.

The new 2021 Porsche Taycan updates will roll out in the new model year, which commences October 2020.
