THE SONY REON POCKET, A WEARABLE THEMODEVICE, IS FINALLY AVAILABLE

Keep warm during winters and stay cool during summers 

After being unveiled last year, the Sony Reon Pocket, wearable thermodevice, is now available for purchase online.

 

Accompanied by a special T-shirt that holds the Sony device in the middle of your back just below the neck, the Sony Reon Pocket utilizes the Peltier effect to serve as a thermodevice to cool or heat the the surface of the body.

The Sony Reon Pocket’s companion app for iOS and Android devices allows for manual adjustment and an automatic mode to regulate the body’s temperate using motion sensors that detect the activity of the user. Ensuring desired level of comfort is maintained in hot conditions, the Sony Reon Pocket can reduce a user’s body temperature by as much as 13 degrees Celcius or heat the body by as much as 8.3 degrees Celcius in colder situations.

 

 

The Sony Reon Pocket holds an internal battery that could last for two to four-hours of usage but needs to be charged for two hours before use.

 

 

The Sony Reon Pocket was originally set for a release that coincided with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Sony’s new thermodevice is now available on the Sony Japan webstore around $170 AUD and on Amazon Japan for $230 AUD, the T-shirt holder is sold separately around $28 AUD each.
