Car lovers rejoice as the 2022 Kia EV6 has been revealed, and yes, there are plans to launch it in Australia. Read on for the full details.

 

Talking to media about the upcoming Kia EV6, a spokesperson from the company said, “We will be bringing EV6 to Australia, and production will commence during [the fourth quarter of] this year. Timing of arrival – along with further details regarding pricing and specs – will be confirmed at a later date.”

 

The new Kia EV6 will be offered in three amazing variants, a standard variant, a sport-themed GT-Line and the high-performance GT. The first to, the standard variant and the GT-Line variants will come with two battery pack sizes, 77.4kWh, and 58.0kWh. A person can also choose from a single motor and rear-wheel drive or a dual-motor all-wheel drive.

 

The performance-focused variant of the 2022 Kia EV6 will have a larger battery pack as well as a dual-motor set-up (no other option available). It will produce an amazing 430kW and 740Nm. It also claims to reach 0-100km/h speed in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 260km/h. This version will also have several styling upgrades like aggressive rear and front bumpers, lime green accents that enhance the look of brake callipers and interior trim, and unique alloy wheels.

 

Two unique aspects of performance-focused 2022 Kia EV6 GT are an electronic rear limited-slip differential and an appealing sports suspension that allows sitting 5mm lower than the GT-line and standard variants. The outputs for the lesser EV6 models will be 125kW/350Nm for the rear-drive 58kWh configuration, 168kW/350Nm for the rear-drive 77.4kWh variant, 173kW/605Nm for the all-wheel-drive 58kWh option, and 239kW/605Nm for the AWD 77.4kWh grade – the lattermost can sprint 0-100km/h in 5.2-seconds.
