Star Wars – Disney Finally Reveals a ‘Real’ Lightsaber and It’s Mega

This is not the first time the lightsaber from Star Wars has been revealed

Who does not like surprises? Well, Disney has just delivered one and fans are quite excited. You may have guessed it right. Disney has now revealed an official first look of the lightsaber replica from Star Wars. These lightsabers feature actual glowing blades that can retract and extend.

 

But along with the good news, there is some unfortunate news too. The lightsaber will not be available in the market any time soon. This is not the first time the lightsaber from Star Wars has been revealed. At first, we only had some screenshots of these replicas of a lightsaber. It was revealed that they have been made by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development.

 

The leaked pictures did not offer much information regarding the lightsaber replica from Star Wars. However, we now know how these fascinating gadgets will work. Basically, a patent from 2018 explains the overall working of the lightsaber.

This lightsaber basically has two plastic strips similar to tape measures. These extend out and wrap with the help of a motor. This creates a cylinder with LEDs in the center. These LEDs are primarily responsible for the glow that the lightsaber replica creates.

 

Just recently, Disney also announced that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will at the Disney World not open until 2022. But with that, a video of the lightsaber lightened the hearts of fans. Furthermore, the company has also stated, “Guests who experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the first to see it in action…”

Of course, it would be quite exciting to see this technology in person. At first, though, the lightsaber will only be limited to the Star Wars resort guests. However, it will take long before these become a collectible that you can purchase in a gift/toy shop.

Nevertheless, these might not come cheap anyway. The company might find a way to make the lightsaber replica from Star Wars more affordable and accessible to the fans. After all, there is a huge potential of making good sales with this product.
