The Batman trailer is unveiled showing Robert Pattinson in dark, violent turn

This year, the DC FanDome was so much more than expected. We got to have better looks at the Gotham Knights trailer, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and finally, The Batman trailer.

Nevertheless, Robert Pattinson’s new look as The Batman in the upcoming movie is indeed a sight to behold. Unlike the previous movies, the new trailer reveals a gothic and grim setting, as we see Batman facing Penguin and Riddler.

Without a doubt, the Riddler and Penguin are two of the most iconic villains in the DC universe. In specific, fans are going crazy over the new Colin Farrell’s Penguin. Other than that, we also get the first look at Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman.

The Batman trailer itself is filled with plenty of car chases, explosions, and slow-motion clips. Apparently, everyone in this version of Gotham seems extremely worried, as the city is under siege by Penguin and The Riddler.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Rubert Penry-Jones, and Barry Keoghan.

Previously, Ben Affleck and Christian Bale have played the role of Batman in the movies by Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan, respectively. So, Robert Pattinson will be the third actor to take on the Batman role.

Earlier in the 1989 and 1992 movies by Tim Burton, the character was portrayed by Michael Keaton. And sources say that he will be reprising the role again in The Flash 2022. Originally, Ben Affleck was going to star in The Batman 2022.

However, after he stepped off the project, the caped superhero was reconfigured. The movie now revolves around a younger Bruce Wayne who still seems to be fighting his demons. While fans believed that Robert Pattinson was an unconventional choice, it now looks like the role fits him just right.

The Batman is set to release in Australia on 3rd March 2022.

Other than The Batman trailer, the DC FanDome also revealed the 2022 Flash trailer, Black Adam trailer, Peacemaker trailer, and a behind-the-scenes clip for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. So, the hype for the other upcoming DC content is no less.
