Better Call Saul Confirms Walt and Jesse’s Return For Its Final Season

“They’re coming back.”

For years, fans have waited for Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston to appear on screen together. Their wish has been granted as the Breaking Bad duo will appear on the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul.

The news of the duo appearing on screen together was shared by AMC via a tweet that included a picture of the two stars as their characters, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, with a simple caption, “They’re coming back.”

The co-creator of the series, Peter Gould, first announced the news at a PaleyFest L.A. panel, where he stated, “I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah. How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”

At the red carpet premiere of the sixth season on Thursday, Odenkirk stated that Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad will intersect more than ever now. He said, “I personally feel that the two shows — Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul — are entwined even more than ever in the final season. And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch Breaking Bad again.”

Even co-creator Vince Gilligan said that he has always believed that “it would be a damn shame” if the Better Call Saul ended without appearances from Cranston and Paul. A few days back, he had stated, “These two worlds cross over in a way that you haven’t seen before, that’s for sure. It would be a damn shame if the show ended without [Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul] appearing, would it not?”

The first seven episodes of Season 6 of Better Call Saul will be released in Australia on April 19, 2022. The last six episodes of the final season are expected to land on July 12, 2022.
