Elon Musk is Actually Living in a Waterfront Texas Mansion
Musk often stays in a sprawling Texas mansion that belongs to a fellow billionaire
Not too long ago, Elon Musk claimed that he was living in a $50k pad in Texas. According to the Billionaire, he had already sold most of his real estate portfolio. This also includes the California estate, which he sold last month for $32 million. Though, the Wall Street Journal has recently reported that Musk still lives in a waterfront Texas mansion. This mansion belongs to Ken Howery, his fellow billionaire. The Wall Street Journal also reported that Musk is looking for an Austin luxe pad of his own.
The property was sold in 2018 for $12 million. However, there are no reports indicating that Musk has paid Howery for staying in this Texas mansion. Though Howery has added a clarification by stating, “Elon does not live at my home, he lives in South Texas. He stayed at the house as my guest occasionally when traveling to Austin.”

Back in July, Elon Musk mentioned on Twitter that he is living in a house worth only $50k. Based on the records, that $50k property is owned by Space Exploration Technologies Corp.
Reports also state that Musk is looking for a Texas mansion on his own. Several real estate agents in Austin are reportedly helping him find the perfect property. Furthermore, the personal financial advisors of Musk state that he requires a large piece of land. Musk has also toured several abodes in Texas.
The custom Texas mansion owned by Kendra Scott is of prime interest. However, Musk did not show up for the home tour for this property. Speculators wonder why his search for a new home is so full of secretive.
Earlier in 2021, rumors said Elon Musk had bought an expensive Texas mansion in Austin for $39 million. However, that turned out to be only a rumor. Celebrities and billionaires are often quite secretive about their property transactions.
So, it might be difficult to figure out where Elon Musk really lives. However, it looks like the $50k worth of pad in Austin is not his only residence. Perhaps, Musk will end up with a sprawling Texas mansion of his own sooner or later.
