RR Auction has been auctioning off a number of Steve Jobs memorabilia lately.

While iconic Apple products have been preserved to tell the tale of how the tech world has advanced in the past few decades, there have been additional artefacts that have surfaced recently. A typed letter from Steve Jobs recently appeared on the list. The letter was on a 8.5″ x 11″ paper and has an Apple Computer Inc. letterhead that is dated back to the 11th of May, 1983. The Steve Jobs letter is addressed to a person named L.N. Varon from Imperial Beach, California. The short letter sees Jobs responding to a request. He wrote, “I’m honored that you’d write, but I’m afraid I don’t sign autographs.”

It is well documented before that Jobs often declines autograph requests. However, in the auctioned Jobs correspondence, he declines the request, yet signs the letter with his distinctive lowercase signature. The cheeky response and autograph from Steve Jobs gives fans an insight to his personality back in the day. The auctioned letter itself is in good condition, with only a small stain in the lower blank area that is quite unnoticeable. This Steve Jobs memorabilia was sold for $478,939 USD at auction.
