TENET TRAILER REVEALS THE PLOT, BUT ITS RELEASE DATE IS STILL MURKY

Don’t expect much reveal from a Christopher Nolan film though.

TENET TRAILER REVEALS THE PLOT, BUT ITS RELEASE DATE IS STILL MURKY

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the lives of moviemakers and moviegoers. The theatres are closed, and the release dates of films are being pushed further. One of the movies that haven’t got a new release date yet is TENET, and the film will not likely be released in July. Though WB was earlier convinced that the film will be released on July 17, things seem murky in the new TENET trailer.

The TENET trailer is quite interesting, and the film might be the big blockbuster the film world needs to revive itself. But it will only be possible when 80% of the world theatres, especially those in New York and Los Angeles open, which is less likely to happen until a vaccine for coronavirus is discovered.

Warner Bros and Christopher Nolan have apparently admitted the possibility that the film’s release might need to be postponed. In the TENET trailer, the release date has been removed. It only says “coming to theatres,” but no date has been mentioned.

WB has already confirmed that TENET would not go straight to streaming, which is the case with some other films now. The lack of release date on the TENET trailer shows that WB is still figuring things out, and a decision has not been made.

Though the TENET trailer didn’t have a release date, it revealed some interesting plot details. The role of the villain will be played by Kenneth Branagh who wants to cause something worse than Armageddon. Robert Pattinson and David Washington will team up to stop the villain from using something known as time inversion (not time travel).

In the TENET trailer, Washington’s character catches bullets with his gun. All in all, the trailer reminds us that Nolan is still capable of delivering his trademarks of big-screen spectacle and heady themes. We hope the coronavirus crisis will leave the planet for good soon enough so that all cinephiles can watch the film at the multiplexes near them. After all, releasing such an interesting film on the streaming platforms would be a buzzkill, don’t you agree?
