The Futuristic Lamborghini V12 Vision GT Hypercar Revealed

You can’t touch and/or buy it, but you can see and drive it

Lamborghini revealed the Lamborghini V12 Vision GT just ahead of the Monte Carlo Gran Turismo Championship. It’s the latest digital-only hypercar for the video game, but it borrows a lot of real-life elements. To be specific, the powertrain was not developed for the video game— this concept hypercar uses the hybrid powertrain used in a Sian FKP 37. 

 

The Lamborghini V12 Vision GT has the same hybrid engine set-up, made up of a 6.5-liter V12 engine and an additional supercapacitor that improves efficiency and adds power, possessing a combined a brutal 819 hp output. Lamborghini did not announce any additional performance specifications for the Lamborghini V12 Vision GT, but expect a 0-to-60 mph around or quicker than the 2.8 seconds of the Sián’s.

 

As with most concepts, Lamborghini V12 Vision GT’s design is quite unique compared to current Lamborghini production car designs. After all, this is the digital world, which ensures that anything can be achieved. For the Italian brand, it decided to make a hypercar fit for a superhero to drive. Keeping aerodynamics in mind, this hypercar concept has an elongated cockpit making it the main focus of the design, detached angular fenders, huge Y-style taillights and six exhaust pipes give the car all kinds of out- of-this-world vibe. The driver’s cabin is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit, says the Italian company. The driver is so far forward that all of the essential control buttons are placed on the steering wheel, while the readings are displayed across the windshield.

The chairman and CEO of Lamborghini, Stefano Domenicali, said that the Lamborghini V12 Vision GT’s debut in Gran Turismo was planned to help the automaker tap new generation of drivers. “Lamborghini is a very young brand, and this is why we are here today to present our newest virtual vision in the form of a real model, with a highly futuristic and cool design to be enjoyed by the young generation of racing game and super sports car enthusiasts,” he stated.

The latest entry in the Vision Gran Turismo project , the Lamborghini V12 Vision GT will make its debut in the popular Playstation 4 racing game soon. It follows in the footsteps of other brilliant virtual cars, another one might set to debut before the end of the month. Stay tuned!
