Art Attack’s Presenter Neil Buchanan Clarifies that He is Not Banksy
Someone claimed that the host of Art Attack is the street artist
A few days back, a theory gained traction that the legendary Art Attack Presenter Neil Buchanan is Banksy, a reclusive street artist who is also quite popular and active since 1990s. The presenter has now rubbished the claims via a post on his website. Read on for more.
The theory was presented via social media after someone claimed that they had been told that the former children’s TV personality and the host of Art Attack is the street artist. It was posted on Twitter by a user called Scouseman. It read “Just heard that it’s rumoured Neil Buchanan is Banksy. If true, it’s the funniest s*** ever. Aintree’s finest. He’s a musician and art has followed in the cities of shows he’s done allegedly. This is straight in the believe without question category.”

Soon after the post gained the attention of the social media users, dozens of people started sharing their ideas, and some seemed delighted by the theory that legendary Art Attack presenter Neil Buchanan is Banksy. A user said “YES, PLEASE. Am not reading any more about this, and this is going to be my truth from now.” Another user said “They say not to believe everything you read online but I 100 per cent believe this. Don’t even need to look up the cities for confirmation. Neil is Banksy, Banksy is Neil.”
One user even claimed that they have seen Banksy but could not identify him. They said “In the late nineties/early noughties, someone pointed Banksy out to me at the Notting Hill Arts Club. I also saw him doing a stencil outside my flat in Hoxton at around the same time (hood up). Could I pick him out of a line-up? Absolutely not.”
After so much frenzy on the social media, legendary Art Attack presenter Neil Buchanan was forced to deny that he is the elusive street artist. The Art Attack presenter shared his opinion via a post on his website that was entitled ‘Neil Buchanan is NOT Banksy’.
The post by the Art Attack presenter regarding him being labelled as Banksy reads “We have been inundated with enquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story. Unfortunately, this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these enquiries, individually, however, we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever. Neil spent lockdown with vulnerable members of his family and is now preparing to launch his new art collection in 2021. Thank you, and please stay safe.”
Many fans are disappointed that the Art Attack host is not the intriguing street artist Banksy. Some even refuse to believe it.
