Many may find jumpers, currently for sale on Amazon, featuring a jolly, hollow-eyed Santa Claus getting ready  to do some lines of “snow” is somewhat funny. But they’ve caused a huge stir for the retail giant, Walmart as well as a certain country once associated with cocaine. It seems that they didn’t find it very amusing at all.

While there was no such jumper on the U.S. Walmart website, it was on the Walmart.ca page, and the company received numerous complaints, including from the Colombian government, stating that it was unacceptable.

The South American country even demanded Walmart to pay them, stated that “the Walmart sweater is an offense to the country. It generates damage to the legal products of Colombia and damage to the country’s reputation.”

As per reports, Walmart pulled out the items and apologized,  saying that the “sweaters, sold by a third-party seller on Walmart.ca (our website in Canada), do not represent Walmart’s values and have no place on our website.”

A variety of these Santa Claus jumpers with the same theme are still for sale on Amazon, andtheyare selling fast.

It’s now being sold as a ‘Cocaine Santa’ jumper with the tagline that says, ‘perfect for cozy days with your family!’ If you think that’s bad, the description by Fun Wear (who originally sold it with Walmart) says:

“We all know how snow works. It’s white, powdery and the best snow comes straight from South America. That’s bad news for jolly old St. Nick, who lives far away in the North Pole. That’s why Santa really likes to take savor the moment when he gets his hands on some quality grade A Colombian snow,” written in the description.

Though the Santa Claus jumpers are listed and being sold in Amazon, a report from Business Insider states that they are really from third party sellers and Amazon is just taking on the responsibility of packing and logistics of the products. Amazon generates profit from this business model, but as the report notes, “the reliance on third-party sellers comes a loss of control over quality.”

Another media outlet points out that the jumpers do not appear to violate the Code of Conduct of Amazon with regards to third-party sellers, so most likely these Santa Claus jumpers will stay for sale in the site and wont be pulled out.

There were other Santa Claus jumpers listed for sale, which include Santa sitting on the toilet and another design displays Santa with his pants down in front of a fire, with the words ‘Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire’.
