EA Sports Finally Announces Skate 4 - Here’s What We Know So Far
EA Sports

The pleas of fans have finally been heard by EA sports as it is bringing Skate 4 after dealing with scores of fan requests over the years. The fans who have been waiting for this moment for about a decade can finally rejoice. But they’d have to wait some more as the official release dates haven’t been shared yet.

The long-waited announcement regarding Skate 4 was shared as a “one last thing” during the end of EA Play Live showcase by the publisher Electronic Arts. Sadly, there was no game footage with the announcement but there was a quick interview between developers that included Chris “Cuz” Parry who looked gleeful when he said “we cannot believe you commented this into existence. Amazing!”

The Game Director Deran Chung and Parry stated that Skate 4, which they are still called Skate is very early in development. Hence, the fans shouldn’t be too eager and hope for a release date anytime soon.

Chung said “We’ve been waiting years, honestly, to make the right game at the right time with the right idea, and I’m really, really pleased to say that we’re here. It is really early, but it takes a little while to find Cuz, or wake him up.”

For those of you who can’t remember, Skate 3 was released in May 2010 so it’s been over 10 years gap between that and Skate 4 which is unlikely to be released this year. The hope of release of Skate 4 is a boon for hundreds of thousands of fans who made one of longest running social media campaigns led by fans possible by using #skate4 hashtag in reply to social media posts by EA sports. The focus was to urge the company to revive the popular franchise.

EA sports has been very quiet about the release of Skate 4 so the news of the company actually working on the game is a delight for fans who have waited for years to hear something positive. As they say, being patient always pays off. This seems to be the case here.
