GET THOSE PLANNERS READY AS THE TRAVEL RESTRICTION WITHIN NSW LIFTED

Regional holidays will be back on the planners for NSW peeps, as statewide travel restriction plans to be lifted this coming June.

Everyone can’t wait for the 1st of June as the NSW Government just announced that, as of that date, the travel restriction to regional areas for leisure purposes will be lifted. You read that right, this means that holidays within NSW will be back, in what appears to be a minor move but a milestone for the state towards getting back to normal.

This is a quite win for tourism areas within the state, defo, who have obviously went through a devastating blow amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Gladys Berejiklian, NSW Premier, announced the scrapping of the statewide travel restriction news today.

Ms Berejiklian stated that lifting the non-essential travel restriction was “great news” and that New South Wales was “always open to welcome people from other states”.

“We intend to keep our borders open. We think that’s best for New South Wales but also best for Australia.”

Though it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer interstate travel restrictions to be lifted, as NSW and QLD have had some issues over the reopening of the border. “I’ve been quietly having a jibe at all of my state colleagues who have their borders shut,” Berejiklian told Sky News in an interview on the weekend.

Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland have pushed backed the ScoMo government’s recommendation to ease the state border travel restriction.
