The day for which hundreds of thousands of Australians have been waiting has finally arrived. From July 1, Coronavirus restrictions would be somewhat eased by the state governments. Also, this day is the start of the new financial year, so there are some hopes attached to it. If you want to know which coronavirus restrictions will be eased in your state or a state where a loved one lives, then here’s a simple state by state guide that will help you.

Queensland

  • The easing of many coronavirus restrictions will begin from July 10. Here, over 100 people will be allowed at libraries, museums, art galleries, places of worship, weddings, funerals, indoor gatherings like home visitors, and outdoor venues like cinemas or pubs.
  • Over 100 people can also be allowed at pools, community sports, yoga studios, health clubs, gyms, open homes and auctions, outdoor amusement parks, arenas, concert venues, zoos, stadiums, auditoriums, night clubs, beauty parlours, tanning salons, tattoo parlours, non-therapeutic massage parlours, camping, hiking and other such activities that are organized in state and national parks.
  • The decision regarding the re-opening of the borders will be taken on Tuesday.

NSW

From July 1, the following activities would be allowed:

  • Community sports for both adults and children will resume.
  • The restriction of 50 persons in indoor venues would be removed as long as people are seated. It also includes function centres.
  • The restrictions on indoor and outdoor funerals have been relaxed. Now, one person is allowed in every four-square meters.
  • Passengers’ limits are eased too. About 23 passengers are allowed in an average two-door bus, 68 people per train carriage and ferries can seat a maximum of 250 passengers.
  • People need to leave an empty seat or adequate space between them. A green dot will still be used to identify the safest place where you can sit or stand. If there is no green dot, you will have no spot.
  • The coronavirus restrictions regarding outside gatherings and household visitors are capped at 20 people.
  • Large outdoor venues like sporting stadiums that have a capacity of 40,000 people can host about 25 percent of patrons only if they are ticketed and seated properly.

ACT

  • It has entered the third stage of lifting coronavirus restrictions. It is allowing the re-opening of food courts, returning to full-contact competition for all sports and opening of bathhouses, saunas, steam-based beauty services, brothels, strip clubs, and escort agencies.
  • Decisions regarding return to work, larger crowd gathering (entertainment venues and professional sport), gaming venues, gambling areas, casinos, and face to face learning at universities and other kinds of vocational training providers are still pending.

Victoria

  • Many of the coronavirus restrictions will be lifted from July 12. It includes increasing indoor and outdoor venue limits to 50.
  • The same number of people might also be allowed at libraries, museums, auction homes, places of worship, and community halls.

Northern Territory

  • The border and quarantine related coronavirus restrictions will be lifted on July 17.

Tasmania

  • When it comes to easing coronavirus restrictions, Tasmania will lift border restrictions on July 24.

Western Australia

  • The coronavirus restrictions related to gatherings and capacity will be lifted on July 18. State borders and travel to remote aboriginal communities could be re-opened later.

South Australia

  • As a part of lifting coronavirus restrictions, it will open its borders to Victoria, NSW and the ACT from July 20.

Resuming International Travel While Lifting Coronavirus Restrictions

When it comes to the easing of coronavirus restrictions, many people are wondering whether international travel will be open for Aussies anytime soon. Sadly, the odds are not in our favour. International travel without mandatory quarantine is likely a dream that won’t come true for months and months.

So, if you were planning an overseas holiday, you should know that it would be unlikely until humans find a vaccine for COVID-19 and use it all over the world. No one has any idea when that will happen. Even Scott Morrison has no idea about it. Highlighting it, he said on Friday, “No-one really knows, and that’s the problem. That’s just the uncertainty we have to deal with.”

There’s only one hope for people who want the coronavirus restrictions to be eased to favour international travel. Morrison said that he is hoping to come to a travel bubble arrangement with not just New Zealand but other countries in the Pacific soon.
