Celebrating 200 years of a brand is quite a remarkable feat. Whisky maker Johnnie Walker has achieved this notable goal and is celebrating by releasing four new limited-edition whiskies. They will be released in October this year and are meant to be pricier than usual offerings by the brand.

 

The four new Johnnie Walker whiskies include the following:

Johnnie Walker Blue Label 200th Anniversary Limited Edition Design

The Blue Label has gotten a redesign that features illustrations that “bring to life the 200-year journey of John Walker & Sons and Johnnie Walker, paying homage to some of the great cities and countries that have been part of this inspiring story since 1820.”

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Legendary Eight

Blue Label Legendary Eight is new and crafted, and it uses whiskies that was hand-selected from eight distilleries which existed in 1820. It also includes long-closed “ghost” distilleries. A bottle of this might be around USD 350 (About AUD 490).

John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend

John Walker & Sons Celebratory Brand is a unique scotch that is inspired by flavours that were found in the Walker family’s grocery store during the middle of the 19th century and are crafted with whiskies that are from distilleries which were operational at that time. It would probably cost USD 75 (about AUD 105) a bottle.

John Walker & Sons Bicentenary Blend

John Walker & Sons Bicentenary Blend is the last blend on the list of four Johnnie Walker 200 anniversary limited edition whiskies. They are made with rare whiskies that have been aged for at least 28 years. It includes whiskies from long-closed distilleries Port Ellen (reopening soon), Pittyvaich, and Cambus. This blend could cost as much as USD 1,000 (About AUD 1,401).  

 

Johnnie Walker’s Master Blender Dr. Jim Beveridge said in a Press Release, “Each of these exclusive releases brings a fresh perspective to our 200th-anniversary story and is the perfect way to celebrate this huge moment for Johnnie Walker. It feels very apt to be announcing them this week to coincide with John Walker’s birthday.”

 

Johnnie Walker is a brand that manages to be in the news for one reason or another. Recently, the brand was all over the news when it announced Johnnie Walker in paper bottles, and before that, it grabbed attention due to its collab with Game of Thrones. Stay tuned for more details.
