Following the introduction of its PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier a few weeks ago, LG Electronics Inc. has now announced its latest innovation, a hair growth helmet designed to combat hair loss.

Under the LG Pra.L beauty appliance brand that was launched back in 2017, the LG Pra.L MediHair uses Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT), which has been approved by South Korea’s drug safety ministry and was also cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for male-pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia). The new LG Pra.L MediHair hair growth helmet features 146 laser and 104 LED lights that stimulate hair follicle stem cells to support hair growth and potentially slow down male-pattern baldness. The brand claims that according to a clinical study conducted at the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, trial participants that used the Pra.L MediHair three times a week for 16 weeks saw improved hair density and hair thickness.

There’s no details on when the LG Pra.L MediHair hair growth helmet will be commercially released nor the pricing for the international / domestic markets. Although, the good bit is that it’s on the way and the sun’s shining brighter for the eggshell blondes out there.
