Nike Honours London & Amsterdam With Air Max 1 City Pack

The colourways were inspired by the cities’ architecture

Nike has revealed two new Air Max 1 City colourways inspired by the architecture of the cities of Amsterdam and London. The two sneaker designs feature totally different colour palettes, with the the warm colours that appear on the Air Max 1 City – Amsterdam in complete contrast to the colder tones of the Air Max 1 City – London-themed sneaker.

 

Coming in “Red/Khaki/Peach,” the Air Max 1 City – Amsterdam sneaker is constructed from a range of textures including suede, corduroy and leather in honor of the red buildings and elaborate canal systems of the city. The focal feature of the sneaker is on the heel, where an embroidery of the iconic canals pass through the Nike Swoosh, while the “XXX” taken from the coat of arms of Amsterdam is featured towards the toe box.

 

The Air Max 1 City – London sneaker also features a mixed texture upper with elements made of mesh, suede and corduroy. The cool colour palette sees the Air Max 1 decked out in “Grey/Valerian Blue,” in reference to the city’s architectural diversity and the River Thames is also honoured in a similar heel embroidery like the Amsterdam sneaker. An embroidered circle silhouette is placed on along the forefoot lateral which can perhaps interpret London Eye’s shape.
