The Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer Teases the Ultimate Star Wars Rematch

Setting the stage for Ewan McGregor’s long-awaited return to Star Wars.

The first Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer was released recently, and it has revealed many of the best-kept secrets about the TV series. Though the show was confirmed in 2019, there have been delays regarding its release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show will see Ewan McGregor return as iconic Jedi, and it will also see Hayden Christensen return as Darth Vader.

At one point, the idea was to make an Obi-Wan spinoff movie, but the project was reworked as a TV miniseries for Disney Plus. The trailer confirms that the former Jedi would be shaken from the Revenge of the Sith events. He is living his days in exile on Tatooine. In the trailer, he says, “The fight is done. We lost.”

One ray of hope is that in the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer, we see Obi-Wan Kenobi watching over a young Luke Skywalker.

The trailer also introduces us to the villains of the show. The Jedi would have to deal with Inquisitors. Star Wars Rebels’ Grand Inquisitors will be seen hunting down surviving Jedi in the show. So, it’s obvious that they will be searching for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In the trailer, Moses Ingram’s Inquisitor Revas encounters Uncle Owen on Tatooine. She will likely confront Obi-Wan Kenobi. Another mystery is what will force Obi-Wan Kenobi to leave the desert world.

The key point of the trailer comes towards the end when we can hear Darth Vader’s breathing. Though we can’t see the villain, but the sound of his breathing is unmistakable. Whether the iconic character would face Obi-Wan Kenobi or not is still unknown.

In addition to the trailer, an official Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi synopsis is also provided. It reads, “Farmers work hard under the hot environment of two suns, while trying to protect themselves and their loved ones from Tusken Raider. The attack.
