After months of BMW teasing its 2021 M3 and M4 lineups, the German automaker has finally unveiled the BMW M3 and M4 along with their Competition models, featuring a more aggressive design, emphasized by its massive iconic coffin grilles.

The BMW M3 and M4’s performance also lives up to the brand’s M division reputation, carrying two versions of the S58 twin-turbo straight-six engine that first featured on both the X3 M and X4 M. The regular BMW M3 and M4 will hold an iteration that pushes 473 HP and 406 pound-feet of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.1 seconds, while the Competition models will get an enhanced version pushing 503 HP and 479 pound-feet of torque, translating to a 0-100 km/h and 0-200 km/h in 3.8 seconds and 12.5 seconds respectively.

Just a quick note to the manual drivers out there, only the standard BMW M3 and M4 will have the six-speed manual transmission — the Competition models will feature an eight-speed automatic. All four cars will come as rear-wheel-drives, but the faster two versions will also be getting an all-wheel-drive option by late 2021. Unlike the brand’s other AWD systems, however, the ones carried by the Competition models will activate when the rear-wheel-drive detects mode slippage.

Both the BMW M3 and M4 will arrive in Australia around first quarter of 2021, with the AWD Competition models will also be arriving next year. Stay tuned for more release updates.
