Currently, the automobile industry is gripped with a lot of uncertainty. Though, the lines still are not that blurry. Earlier in 2020, McLaren representatives mentioned that the 2021 McLaren Hybrid Supercar will be around in the coming year.

 

And looks like the British automotive manufacturer is going to keep this promise. This is because the very first Hybrid Supercar has is already in the final stages of testing. With such speed of development, we can certainly expect this 2021 McLaren supercar to hit the market in the coming year.

A big number of sources are also referring to this all-new supercar as the ‘next-generation high-performance Hybrid Supercar’. And McLaren just announced the news on Tuesday that the car is in its final development stage.

If we are to assume that things will go just as planned, then we can expect this car to be launched in the middle of 2021. Still, the uncertainties related to the global COVID-19 pandemic are there.

Though, a big number of fans and automobile enthusiasts are not too appreciative of the fact that McLaren is still hiding some details of the supercar. Though, we do know that the 2021 McLaren supercar will feature a V-6 IC engine. Along with that, the number of electric motors is currently not specified.

Furthermore, it has also been promised that this new car will have a pure EV driving mode. With that, this will be the very first hybrid supercar by the company that features a carbon-fiber structure. This structure also being called MCLA, which stands for ‘McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture’.

The structure of the 2021 McLaren Hybrid Supercar is quite interesting though. The chassis seems to be fully optimized for high-performance powertrains. Furthermore, it will also keep the weight of the car down.

 

The CEO of McLaren had this to say about this car in a recent statement: “This is a new kind of McLaren for a new era, an extraordinary drivers’ car that offers blistering performance as well as an all-electric range capable of covering most urban journeys”

While the release date and pricing is not final yet, it is speculated that this 2021 McLaren Hybrid Supercar will sit right between the GT and 720S range.
