The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is heading towards the finale, and the story is moving quickly. Episode 5, which aired recently, was the episode that we’ve all been waiting for and it’s certainly the most powerful one. It had so many key highlights that mentioning them all would be tough. Here we give it a shot (spoilers ahead!).

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 5: Truth

Episode 5 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier begins with John Walker’s remorse that quickly turns into anger as he refuses to give up the shield and takes on both, Bucky, and Sam. After an intense fight, the duo manages to defeat him and get the shield. Then the scene shifts to Karli, who has gone into deeper hiding after losing a Super Soldier. Torres tells Sam and Bucky to lay low for a while, and Sam tells Torres to keep his broken wings (broken by John Walker during the fight) while he takes the shield with him.

Back in the US, John Walker is being punished for what he did, and he walks out of the hearing. He is then met by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who wants to use him (more on her later).

Then we see Karli visiting the GDC outpost, seeing it ruined, and finally deciding to act. Meanwhile, Bucky turns Zemo over to Dora Milaje, and Ayo gives him a briefcase.

The focus of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier then shifts to Sam, who talks to Isaiah about what happened. Isaiah tells his story about how he was humiliated after he saved the lives of fellow soldiers and said, “They will never let a Black man be Captain America. And even if they did, no self-respecting Black man would ever wanna be.”

Back home, Sam helps Sara fix their boat, and Bucky and other community members join him. Bucky gives him the briefcase he got from Dora Milaje. The next emotional scene in Episode 5 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier sees Walker visiting Lemar’s family to share their grief.

Sharon also makes an appearance in Episode 5 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and she releases Batroc, who later joins Karli and her gang.

Next, Sam and Bucky have a heart-to-heart conversation. Then Sam has another one-on-one talk with Sara. Soon after, he decides to use the shield and probably become the next Captain America.

Torres reports that Karli is back in New York, and we see she has expanded her reach. The 5 Episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ends with Sam opening the briefcase given to him by Bucky (which probably has a new Captain America suit). The post-credit scene shows that John Walker has not given up and is creating his own version of Captain America’s shield.

The episode definitely opened the door for more Marvel stories and one of the most interesting bits of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 5 was the character of La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine. She was introduced to Marvel Comics in 1967. She was a former love interest of Nick Fury and a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent but in 2009, it was revealed that she is a Russian mole. It was then revealed that Hydra always controlled S.H.I.E.L.D., and Fontaine dons the role of the villain “Madame Hydra.”
