The coronavirus pandemic is impacting billions of lives. People are losing their jobs and livelihoods. The idea of a new smartphone launch might seem crazy to some at such testing times, but as expected, Apple has done it. The company has launched the most affordable iPhone ever, the iPhone SE that is loaded with cool features and is somewhat budget-friendly.

The rebooted version of iPhone SE in 2020 is similar in design to the 3-year-old iPhone 8 as it has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, home button with touch ID and thick bezels. It has some cool added features like an A13 Bionic processor which will improve its performance to be at par with iPhone 11.

The newest iPhone SE is made of aluminium and glass and can provide a user with Qi wireless charging. It has impressive storage that starts at 64 GB and goes up to 256 GB. There are three models of the device and all cost less than a thousand bucks. So, Apple has successfully pitched in one of its products against the Google Pixel 3A that beautifully disrupted the mid-range market last year.

Cost is a significant attraction factor of the new iPhone SE. The original iPhone SE cost AUD 679 in 2016, and the latest one just has an AUD 70 bump with a lot of tech advancements added. The 64 GB version of iPhone SE will cost AUD 749, 128 GB will cost AUD 829 while the 256 GB version will cost AUD 999. It will be available to Aussies via the official Apple website and selected retailers.

Talking about the new iPhone SE, Phil Schiller, the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Apple said, “The first iPhone SE was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance and affordable price; the new second-generation iPhone SE builds on that great idea and improves on it in every way — including our best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos — while still being very affordable.”
