People who live a lavish lifestyle and buy every luxurious product the moment it’s launched have something worthy to look forward to. Luxury vape is a thing of the past and luxury cars are making the headlines. The latest invention is Bugatti Chiron that has set a new record for supercars by reaching a dazzling speed of 490.484km/h with a modified Chiron coupe.

Bugatti Chiron is the first car to reach the historic milestone of exceeding 300 mph or 482.8 km an hour. Even other cars by the automaker, Bugatti Centodieci wasn’t able to achieve this feat. The driver who must have felt like James Bond or a lead character from the Fast and Furious while driving at such speed, Andy Wallace, who is also 1988 Le Mans winner described the speed as “incredible.” He added “It’s inconceivable that a car would be capable of this, but the Chiron was well prepared and I felt very safe — even in these high-speed ranges. The Chiron ran perfectly, and the track and weather conditions were ideal. The whole team did a fantastic job.”

Bugatti Chiron has successfully shattered the top speed record of 431 km/h set by the previous-generation supercar, Bugatti Veyron. Some of the features that helped Bugatti Chiron achieved this feat are low-drag bodywork, Michelin tyres that were laboratory-tested at speeds up to 511km/h and a roll cage and race harness. The engine was as safe as the “normal” Chiron engine that sends 1119kW and 1600Nm to all four wheels.

The cost of this Bugatti Chiron is not confirmed, but we estimate it would cost around $20 million in Australia. As Bugatti only builds cars in left-hand drive, you might have to practice first before driving or you’ll see your hard-earned money drive away.

The Chief Executive of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelmann, thinks Bugatti Chiron represents more than just its speed. He said “Our hyper sports cars are capable of more. They offer absolute exclusivity, luxury, unmatched beauty and a high level of automotive craftsmanship. The Bugatti is the only hyper sports car that combines all of these characteristics in one vehicle.”

Another key person, Bugatti’s Frank Heyl, mentioned a challenge that was faced during the creation of Bugatti Chiron. He stated the biggest challenge was to get everything right that includes design, aerodynamics, engine, and tyres. They all should work seamlessly together.

What are your thoughts on Bugatti Chiron? Are you dreaming of driving it one day?
