Joseph Dumary

Designer Joseph Dumary made a concept render for the upcoming Microsoft’s Xbox Series X console that incorporates a built-in projector and speaker in its design. The Xbox Project Oris features a 3D speaker set up and a projector capable of ultra high definition 8K HDR resolution.

This Xbox Series X concept has a projector that is a laser short-throw unit with Motion+ technology enabling to detect walls automatically. According to T3, “Brightness is rated at 2,500 lumens and its lamp life is visualized at 23,000 hours.”

This concept also includes a digital assistant which may connect to your home and control it with a simple voice command. The advantage being it can thereby:

  • control the lights to set the mood
  • play music and adjust the volume for an optimal gaming experience
  • as well as use voice command to set game reminders. i.e. “Remind me that I am playing NBA 2K with Oliver tomorrow.”

The Xbox Series X concept, Project Oris, comes with a touchscreen controller with a fingerprint sensor that can be set to different account profiles and controller preferences. The conceptualized controller features a Dynamic Mode that can measure a player’s stress levels through pressures felt while playing a game. After obtaining pressure input, the algorithm would adjust the difficulty of the game accordingly. Lastly, the Xbox Series X concept controller is capable of charging “at a distance of 11.8 inches or 30 centimeters from the console.”
