The lockdown situation that has happened due to the coronavirus crisis has forced people in many countries to stay at home. So, they are looking for new ways of entertaining themselves. One of the methods is to play some games and keep themselves occupied. If you are also among such people and you want to try some new games, you should know that Hyper Scape is the latest free-to-play battle royale. Offered by Ubisoft Montreal, this game will be launched on PC this year before being moved to PS4 and Xbox One.

The Hyper Scape app was leaked earlier this week, and it has now been officially revealed by streamers. A bunch of major ones are already enjoying it on Twitch with drops that let a user get access to the technical test.

For those of you who haven’t heard of or played this game before, Hyper Scape is set in the future, where most of humanity spends most of their time in a VR universe, which is basically like an all immersive internet ecosystem not too dissimilar from the OASIS in Ready Player One.

One of the popular activities that take place in Hyper Scape is Battle Royale Arena called Crown Rush. It allows up to 100 players who can duke it out across a very large urban landscape until a “Crown” spawns later in the game. The players will have to get it and secure it for 45 seconds to win. The game also has certain “Hacks” like healing aura or invisibility that helps the players along the way and improves their chances of being in the one/team with the “Crown” when regions become inaccessible and force the players to face more claustrophobic encounters.

The loot and weapons systems are greatly amplified as compared to other games like Apex Legends or PUBG. Players don’t need to depend on pickups for regenerating their health. Also, instead of weapon attachments, the players in Hyper Scape can upgrade the guns by acquiring duplicate copies that they find as they roam.

Hyper Scape will be free-to-play, but Ubisoft Montreal have plans to monetise the game with rolling seasons, game battle passes, and character customisation microtransactions via an in-game store, in addition to telling a story via a number of playable characters of Hyper Scape, each with their own history and motivations.

Anyone will be able to enjoy Hyper Scape for free later this year. But if you want to try it right now, you can take a look at it on Twitch and get in the action via Twitch drops. Make sure that your Ubi and Twitch accounts are linked. You can also register an interest for the closed tech test of the game.
