2023 BMW M3 CS: Leaked Photos Reveal the Wildest Series 3 Yet

Showcasing M4 CSL-style upgrades for BMW M’s mid-size sports sedan

The 2023 BMW M3 CS was to be unveiled next weekend. But, the images of the much-awaited vehicle have been leaked. In addition to a larger body, the photos show many aspects of the car and have killed the suspense factor.

The leaked photos of the M3 CS came on Instagram thanks to users @wilcoblok and @kero_wolf. These images show that the car will blend elements of the hardcore, two-door M4 CSL with the latest BMW M3 four-door’s larger body.

The car’s front end is similar to the M4 CSL as it also has new red-accented grille inserts, yellow daytime-running lights, a larger carbon-fibre lower splitter, and a carbon-fibre reinforced plastic bonnet with twin stripes.

The M3 CS also has 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels and fitment of a carbon-fibre roof panel just like the M4 CSL. It also has red brake callipers that might clamp carbon-ceramic discs and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 race-track rubber tyres.

The car doesn’t have the CSL’s body-coloured ‘ducktail’ spoiler. It can only be distinguished from a standard M3 Competition thanks to a red-accented M3 CS badge that is present on the boot lid.

The weight of the M3 CS and how much it differs from the standard model are yet to be revealed. Inside, one can see an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with a red top-centre marker. It also has M4 CSL’s carbon-fibre centre tunnel with a small padded armrest, not a console storage box.

The car will also have some rear seats, but whether four or five is yet to be confirmed. It will also have an updated version of the M3 range’s 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, with an eight-speed automatic transmission and ‘xDrive’ all-wheel drive. This spectacular engine can produce 405kW.

The official unveiling of the M3 CS will be held on the weekend of the Daytona 24-Hour motor race in the US from 28 to 29 January. The production is expected to start in March, and the first showroom arrivals can begin sometime in 2023. Details of an Australia release are yet to be confirmed.
