Though the tourism of Maldives opened in mid-July, the visitors are way beneath the 140,000 number that was present before the pandemic hit the world. Some of the reasons for these low numbers are the fact that countries have travel restrictions are enforced and local authorities now require the visitors to present a certificate on arrival that will prove they are COVID free. On the other hand, efforts are being made to lure people, including Australians to the tropical islands.

The latest effort is by Soneva Fushi luxury eco-resort that is launching eight amazing overwater villas on September 25. These are the world’s largest overwater villas that come with water slides. The bedroom villa is spread across 6,286 square feet while the two bedder is spread across 9,224 square feet. Each of these villas has a massive bedroom with a retractable roof that allows you to stargaze directly from the bed. In addition to the luxurious bedroom, the villas also have a huge outdoor bathroom and a generous living area that is filled with high-end furnishings.

The deck of these villas in the Maldives would have an epic pool, daybeds, a dining spot, and a catamaran net which allows you to set above the water. The villas also have two-story water slides which lead directly into the sea so you can splash all you want.

These attractive villas in the Maldives have amazing interiors with mint greens, fresh whites and turquoise which reflect the colours of the surroundings. The villas at Soneva Fushi are located on sunrise and sunset side of the island. Both the sides have crystal clear azure waters and white sand beaches.

The Sunset side of these villas in the Maldives is for snorkellers as they have three house reef access points. If you live in one of these villas, you can see the neighbouring island, Eydhafushi. In case you prefer more privacy, you can choose the villas that are on the sunrise side. From this side, you can enjoy views of Maalhos island. It is perfect for early risers who want to make the most of morning tranquillity while in the Maldives.

The cost of enjoying these villas in the Maldives is about USD 2,626 (About AUD 3,615) per night for a one-bedroom Water Retreat.

The news of these Maldives villas is a boon for travel and luxury seekers. It comes just a few weeks after Hawaii proposed a quarantine-free travel bubble to Australia. The European Union have also opened it borders to Australians back in June. We’re just hoping everything goes back to normal so that  our travelling restrictions would be eased.
