Balenciaga tops the world’s hottest brands Q4 2021

Balenciaga - Ye - Kanye West — Ye announced a YEEZY x GAP x Balenciaga collaboration earlier this month.

Lyst has released the quarterly trend report once again and has revealed that Balenciaga is still the hottest fashion brand. For the second successive quarter, Balenciaga dominated Lyst sales and searches and also ranked top in Google queries, social media mentions, and engagement statistics. The Demna-led house’s collaborations are one of the reasons for its success, and the collab with Ye (Kanye West) is probably the best of all.

Fashion freaks already know that Ye is a staunch supporter of the brand. He can often be seen wearing Balenciaga products in public and is known for dressing his paramours in pieces hot off the runway. Ye even recruited Demna to oversee the aesthetic of the DONDA listening parties he organizes. A few days back, the rapper also announced a YEEZY x GAP x Balenciaga menage à trois.

The second and third hottest fashion brands for Q4 were Gucci and Prada. Moncler was number 11 in Q3, but now it has increased by six places, again due to its impressive collabs. Bottega Veneta was demoted from seventh to tenth hottest brand probably because of the recent departure of creative director Daniel Lee.

Lyst also created a roundup of most-searched-for products, and LVMH Prize winner Nensi Dojaka’s bustier top was the sixth-hottest women’s item. Gucci’s 1953 horsebit loafers got the number one spot for men. Balaclavas by Miu Miu and Stone Island were also a hot commodity.

The Lyst Index also had a few surprises. Prada’s logo bucket hat (which is also a TikTok favourite), Balenciaga’s Neo-Classic bag, and the gargantuan Adidas YEEZY NSLTD boots were also desired by online shoppers.

Still, many people think that the most interesting thing about Lyst’s reveal is the fact that Ye is associated with Balenciaga, and that’s what makes it the hottest fashion brand. Whether you like him or not, Ye does seem to have a lot of influence in the fashion world, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
