The Lay’s chip bag was by Spanish artist Santiago Sierra and Creative Director Demna Gvasalia. It was unveiled at Balenciaga’s Summer 2023 “The Mud Show” presentation. The models clutched this brilliant piece of creativity as they made their way through the muddy catwalk.

The product resembles a hand-clutched purse and will be available in the colours green, blue, red, and yellow. These are the actual colours of Lay’s potato chip packets that are available in different flavours. The purse will have a zip at the top and will come with a tag in the middle that reads ‘Balenciaga Paris.’

The bag pictures were shared by Lay’s official Instagram and even the brand’s official support account, @DemnaGram. The bag might not be a total surprise for those who follow and admire Demna’s style. After all, Demna had dropped a major hint a few months back. Demna was seen with a packet of Lay’s at a graduate fashion show in Antwerp.

The Lay’s x Balenciaga Potato Chip Bag Clutch might be priced at USD$1,800 (AU$2900). This is more expensive than the usual USD$4 one pays for the chips. The bag is made of leather with a graphic representation of the classic chip bag design. It is finished with a faithful metallic silver lining that looks pretty awesome.
