NBC has finally announced the release date of the last season for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It was done by releasing the first teaser trailer of the series. According to the teaser trailer, the show’s eighth season will be released on 12 Aug, 2021. The teaser of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is quite interesting as it features a montage of the show’s most memorable moments, which includes everything from the sex tape jokes to some sentimental soundbites from the main cast members.

The network has confirmed earlier this year that season 8 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine would also be the last. It is likely that the show will go off the air with a bang and a blaze of glory.

For those who have not watched the show yet, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has an amazing star cast that includes names like Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Melissa Fumero, Stephanie Beatriz, Joel McKinnon Miller, and Dirk Blocker. It has also got many worthy accolades like Andy Samberg winning in the Best Actor (Comedy) category. It also got Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and a Primetime Emmy nomination for Andre Braugher.

Talking about Brooklyn Nine-Nine final season sometime back, Susan Rovner from NBCUniversal Television had stated, “It will launch in August, coming out of the Summer Olympics, which is a coveted slot. We can think of nothing more deserving than giving it to the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. This is a beloved show, and we wanted to give it a slot where it had access to the biggest possible audience.”

The final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will have ten episodes. This time the show appears to be finally ending. There was a scare of the show ending a few years back also. After season five, Fox cancelled it, but NBC revived it after a fervent fan campaign let everyone know how much people loved it.

The series creator Dan Goor writes in a statement published via Twitter.

“I’m so thankful to NBC and Universal Television for allowing u to give these characters and our fans the ending they deserve,”
“When Mike Schur and I first pitched the pilot episode to Andy, he said: “I’m in, but I think the only way to tell this story is over exactly 153 episodes.” – which is crazy because that was exactly the number Mike and I had envisioned.”

“I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with this amazing cast and crew for eight seasons. They are not only among the most talented people in the business, they are all good human beings who have become a family. But most of all, I feel lucky that we have had the best fans in the world. Fans who literally saved us from cancellation. Fans who fill us with joy.”

“Ending the show was a difficult decision, but ultimately, we felt it was the best way to honour the characters, the story, and our viewers. I know some people will be disappointed it’s ending so soon, but honestly, I’m grateful it lasted this long. Title of my sex tape.”
