David Beckham Takes His New Custom Maserati MC20 for a Spin

Beckham’s Maserati MC20 was designed under the Fuoriserie customization program.

David Beckham, who is now an ambassador for Maserati, has tried his hands on designing a supercar. The result is a Maserati MC20, an unforgettable beauty that’s power-packed as well. The car will serve as a love letter to The Magic City.

The soccer icon’s involvement in designing a car is a part of Maserati’s Fuoriserie customization program that allows customers to create their own tailor-made Maserati. The supercar designed by David Beckham has a black and pink chromatic dichotomy that echoes the colours of Beckham’s Miami soccer club.

The Trident logos on the customised Maserati are placed on the C-Pillar and grille. They are finished in black and also have an opaque finish. The Maserati lettering can be found on the rear is opaque. The MC20 badge on the door is pastel pink.

Inside the car designed by David Beckham, you can find leather and Alcantara in pink and black contrast stitching. The backrest in Alcantara is worked with a unique laser engraving method- the tone-on-tone laser engraving method. The headrest of the Maserati also has three-dimensional pastel pink embroidery.

Withing the centre tunnel, you can see a personalised nameplate Maserati Fuoriserie lettering in pastel pink. It is beside the italics “For David” and has an aluminium effect.

As expected, the MC20 designed by David Beckham is powered by the patented V6 petrol engine that is placed within a carbon fibre monocoque and is capable of 463kW. It can also achieve 0-100km/h in less than 2.9 seconds.

Talking about the supercar design experience, David Beckham said, “I have always been a car enthusiast, so to be part of designing and creating my MC20 through the Fuoriserie customisation program has been an amazing experience. It has been incredible to collaborate with the Maserati team and designers to create this one-off car that is inspired by my second home, Miami, and my football club there. It is a joy to be behind the wheel.”
