Genesis GV70 Will Be Launched in Australia in July - Here are Its Specs
The Genesis GV70

Genesis Australia has announced that it will be launching the Genesis GV70 in July this year. The price of the vehicle ranges from AUD 66,400 (before on-road costs) for the entry-level variant) to AUD 83,400 (before on-road costs) for the flagship 3.5T AWD Sport version.

All the variants of Genesis GV70 will have a power tilt or telescopic steering wheel, memory front seats, puddle light projection, and a fingerprint authentication system. All of these were only offered as a part of the luxury package previously. To suit the Australian market, there will be four variants of the 2021 GV70. Two of them would be petrol engines, and one would be diesel. They are named the entry-level 2.5T, the 2.5T AWD, the 2.2D AWD, and the premium 3.5T AWD Sport.

The entry-level variant of the Genesis GV70 has a 2.5-liter turbo petrol four-cylinder engine that can send 224kW of power and 422Nm of torque to the rear wheels of the vehicle. The 2.5T AWD is offered in all-wheel drive. The GV70 2.2D AWD can send 154kW/440Nm to all four wheels thanks to the 2.2-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine that is made of aluminium. Next in the line is the GV70 3.5T AWD that has a 3.5-liter twin-turbo petrol V6, which is capable of producing 279kW/530Nm.

All the vehicles in the line-up have an eight-speed automatic transmission, and they will be available with a luxury package (except the luxury model). Overseas, 3.5T AWD can reach 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds, but the figures for Australia have not been shared yet.

Some key features of the Genesis GV70 are tri-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, acoustic laminated windscreen, and front-door glass, configurable ambient lighting, leather-appointed interior, reclining rear seats, and front power seats with heating and ventilation.

The infotainment system of Genesis GV70 is superb thanks to a 14.5-inch high-definition screen with navigation, live traffic updates, augmented reality, DAB+ digital radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capability, as well as handwriting recognition.

The Standard safety features across the range includes eight airbags – including a centre airbag – as well as an active bonnet for pedestrian safety, blind-spot view monitor, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning with leading vehicle departure alert, forward-collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection and evasive steering assist, intelligent speed-limit assist, lane-keep assist, multi-collision braking and high-beam assist.
