J.J. Abrams’ Upcoming Projects will Make You Want HBO Max

Bad Robot Productions signed an exclusive deal with Warner Bros.

The partnership between HBO Max and JJ Abrams will soon let viewers enjoy some cool content. In 2019, Abrams company Bad Robot Productions signed an exclusivity deal with Warner Media to produce several shows and films for Warner Bros., some of which will be for HBO Max. Details of the first three one-hour shows have been revealed now.

 

The first is an unnamed series that is based on Justice League Dark, a comic book series which explores the supernatural side of the DC universe. The minute details of the series are still under the wraps and fans of the DCEU would need to wait a few months for the same.

Next on the list of shows for HBO Max is Overlook, a 10-episode thriller that is inspired by The Shining. It will focus on a haunted hotel and will feature characters from Stephen King’s story. The third show for HBO Max is Duster, which is about a getaway driver and is set in the 1970s.

 

Like other uber producers on the roster of Warner Bros. T.V. group such as Greg Berlanti, HBO Max is ordering a whole slate of series from J.J. Abrams, and no one is surprised.

Talking about the association, the Chief Content Officer of HBO Max Kevin Reilly who also serves as the President of TNT, TBS and truTV said “What an amazing start to our association with the wildly imaginative Bad Robot team under J.J. and Katie [McGrath]. What could be better than an original J.J. idea and then Warner Bros. letting them loose on iconic I.P. from Stephen King and the D.C. Universe and to provide more must-have programming on HBO Max.”

 

It is obvious that all the cool content that is planned for HBO Max will only be able to get off the ground once the coronavirus pandemic is officially over. HBO Max was planned to launch in May this year, but it seems that it might not be possible. The only good news for the Aussies is that HBO Max might be launched in Australia as HBO is making an effort in this regard. We’ll update this post as soon as something is confirmed.
