Jack Dorsey Says Bitcoin Will Unite the World but Doesn’t Elaborate
“#Bitcoin will unite a deeply divided country. (and eventually: world).”
Billionaire and Twitter Founder Jack Dorsey seem to be a fan of cryptocurrency. He recently stated that Bitcoin would unite the world but failed to shed light on how it will happen. The timing of this statement is interesting, no matter how hollow it is.

On Tuesday, Jack Dorsey tweeted this “#Bitcoin will unite a deeply divided country. (And eventually: the world).” The tweet came sometime after a crucial amendment was blocked. The amendment to the US Senate might have given more control to the US government over cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin.

This is not the first time Jack Dorsey has made such a huge statement. In July, during a Bitcoin conference, he said that his “hope is that [Bitcoin] creates world peace.” He said, “The amount of cost and distraction that comes from our monetary system today is real, and it takes away attention from the bigger problems, some of the bigger problems that Elon is trying to solve — like getting us to multiplanetary humanity.”
He also mentioned, “All these distractions that we have to deal with on a daily basis take away from all those bigger goals that affect every single person on this planet, increasingly so. It may sound a little bit ridiculous, but you fix that foundational level, and everything above it improves, in such a dramatic way. It’s gonna be long-term, but my hope is definitely peace.”
Jack Dorsey also displayed a Bitcoin clock while testifying before Congress and has even opened a new business unit for Square that is known as TBD. In 2018 also, he said that Bitcoin would become the single currency of the world within 10 years.
Jack Dorsey will likely keep promoting Bitcoin in the future also. He doesn’t seem to care that there is a huge carbon footprint associated with mining Bitcoin. He probably hasn’t read the UN Climate Report that declared a code red for humanity. In essence, it seems billionaires like Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey don’t seem to care much about the planet but about something that will let billionaires’ bond over.
