Lightyear Trailer Reveals Origin Story Of Buzz’s To Infinity And Beyond
Disney and Pixar unveil the trailer for Lightyear, the Chris Evans-led Toy Story origin story.
Disney and Pixar have unveiled the first teaser trailer for Chris Evans-led Toy Origin story. The trailer of Lightyear will give you a peek into the origins of Buzz Lightyear. The film will introduce audiences to “the definitive origin story” of the character, his early days as a Space Ranger in Star Command.
Buzz Lightyear was first brought to life in Toy Story, the 1995 film. In that film, Tim Allen voiced the action figure. He believed himself to be a real Space Ranger. After the first two films became a success, a spin-off TV series was released. Disney announced Development on Lightyear last year on its Investor Day. Since then, fans have been waiting for a trailer and more details about the film.
The first trailer was released recently, and it is the first-time fans heard Chris Evan’s voice as the titular space traveller. The trailer is a treat for MCU fans who know Evans as Captain America and are missing seeing him or hearing from him. Fans are now expecting more from the first full trailer of the film. It has also increased anticipation for the film that will be released on June 17, 2022.
Talking about Lightyear, Chris Evans had stated, “The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life. Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else. Watching them work is nothing short of magic. I pinch myself every day.”
Lightyear is expected to be different from Toy Story. Highlighting it, Director Angus MacLane said, “This is its own thing… This is standalone. It’s the Buzz Lightyear movie. It’s that character but as the space ranger, not as the toy.”

Though the Lightyear trailer has done what it was meant to do and got fans excited, there is no word on whether the film will release in Australia and the world in June or not. It is also not clear whether it will be exclusive to the theatres or simultaneously released via Disney+.
