ORIGINAL STORY (9 September 2020): Fans who have been waiting for the pricing details of the Xbox Series S do not have to wait anymore. The pricing has been confirmed via an official tweet by Xbox. Read on to know the pricing and the key specs that make it an attractive option for some gaming enthusiasts.

In the official Tweet regarding Xbox Series S pricing, the company wrote “Let’s make it official! Xbox Series S | Next-gen performance in the ˢᵐᵃˡˡᵉˢᵗ Xbox ever. $299 (ERP). Looking forward to sharing more! Soon. Promise.”

How Much Xbox Series S Will Cost in Australia?

It will cost about AUD 409 in Australia, but once you add GST and general Australia tax, the cost could be as high as AUD 499. The company has not revealed the official Australian pricing details yet.

When Will It Be Released?

Though there is no word on when the new consoles would be out, rumours say that the consoles might be available as soon as November this year along with the Series X (whose price point is not yet confirmed). Some people are also speculating that the consoles might be released for 2020 holiday season.

Xbox Series S Specs

The image of the console shows that it has no disk drive. The console is codenamed as Lockhart. It will not be as powerful as Xbox Series X and might not have 8K capabilities.

Xbox Series S Games

The Xbox Series S can be considered as the Game Pass Ultimate Machine as it would have the same functionality and support as the Series X. Users can use it to play almost all Xbox One games (except outliers on Kinect), as well as all original Xbox and Xbox 360 games. It will also support all the X series games that include highly anticipated games like Fable 4, Halo Infinite, and Everwild.

All in all, the Xbox Series S will be a good option for people who are looking for a next-gen console that has good performance and is quite small and sleek looking. But will it be worth the money? Only time will tell!
