Novak Djokovic has added another milestone to his career. In addition to having 19 Grand Slam titles, he is also doing quite well financially. His prize money at Wimbledon is now US$250,000 or AU$333,325. The amount is an achievement as it will push his career prize money to US$150 million or AU$199 million. With that, he has become the first tennis player and golfer to reach the winnings threshold.

In addition to Novak Djokovic, other tennis stars have also earned well. Roger Federer is at US$130 million, Rafael Nadal is at US$125 million, and Andy Murray is at US$62 million. Novak Djokovic has been doing well financially over the last decade. He got a record US$ 21.1 million in 2015 and holds five single season totals in prize money (out of 10)

The current tennis players like Novak Djokovic are doing way better than their predecessors. The previous legends like Jimmy Connors and Frenchman Benoit Paire are lagging. Connors earned US$8.6 million in prize money for winning 109 events till 1996, when he retired. Though Paire never made it above the fourth round of a grand slam, he beat Connors on the prize money ranks simply because he had been on the Tour since 2007. It was a time of huge payouts.

Tiger Woods is leading the golfers in the US$100 million club as he has earned US$121 million. Serena Williams is earning well too, with US$94.5 million earned so far. NASCAR icon Jeff Gordon made US$154 million in race winnings.

Though Novak Djokovic is the best-paid player in the world of tennis, he still wants a lot more than he is making now. He shared the formation of the Professional Tennis Players Association last year. Novak Djokovic specifically mentioned that it was not a competing tour but rather a vehicle that will empower the players and help them to get more Grand Slam revenues. Nadal and Federer have decided not to sign on with the PTPA.

In other news, Jeff Bezos has finally stepped down as Amazon CEO.
