Snake Eyes Trailer Shows The Complicated Dynamic Between Comrades

The story of G.I. Joe’s Greatest Duo

Another trailer for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins has been released by Paramount. It highlights the unique bond between two leads, Snake Eyes (played by Henry Golding) and Storm Shadow (Andrew Koji). The Snake Eyes trailer seems that the director, Robert Schwentke, has found a nice balance between amazing action sequences and a character-driven story.

As the name suggests, the film follows the origins of G.I. Joe, Snake Eyes, who is a lone wolf. He joins an ancient Japanese clan, the Arashikage, after he saves the life of Storm Shadow, their heir. After joining the clan, he gets trained to become a ninja warrior. During that time, his allegiance and honour are tested by a terrorist organization called Cobra. Golding has stated that his character started to consider Storm Shadow as a brother he never had.

The Snake Eyes trailer shows the starting of their friendship and its development with time. It is put to the test by an elite Cobra operative, Baroness. The new trailer also has many superb action scenes, awesome set pieces, and stunning sequences that will keep you hooked. In addition to Golding, Koji also shows off his skills in the trailer. Even the scenes of Scarlett (played by Samara Weaving), who is an agent of Arashikage, are also interesting.

A major chunk of the new Snake Eyes trailer revolves around the unique bond of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and also sheds light on their history. As Storm Shadow’s allegiances shift in every G.I. Joe story, it would be interesting to see if he joins Cobra in the film and why he does so. A duel between the two characters might also make up for the climactic scene of the film. So, they will be at odds with each other for some reason.

Baroness represents Cobra in the Snake Eyes trailer, but it is not revealed what the organization is planning. The film will hit theatres on July 2021.
