The SSC Tuatara was previously dubbed as the fastest production car. However, the manufacturers then realized that a lot can still be improved. The company behind the SSC Tuatara just announced the production of two new variants that are faster and more powerful.

After the SSC Tuatara base version, we now have a Striker, a street-legal variant that is meant for the tracks . This variant comes with an all-new aero package that includes a frontal dive plain, frontal splitter, side rockers, augmented diffuser, active rear wing, and a vertical stabilizer.

The dive plane, side rockers, and the splitters work together to balance the downforce. Due to these changes, the Striker variant can deliver 1,100 pounds at the speed of 160 mph. And that is why this is a track-focused vehicle.

The other track-only variant is the Aggressor. This hypercar features an advanced engine that can deliver 2,200 hp. While it features the aero package of the Striker, it comes with many new modifications for the tracks. However, the exact details of the modifications have not been announced yet.

SSC has also not announced the performance metrics of these new variants other than the downforce figures. However, one can expect to get their minds blown. Earlier in 2021, the SSC Tuatara ended up becoming the fastest production car in the world after reaching a speed of 282.9 mph.

Previously, the Koenigsegg Agera RS had set the maximum benchmark at 277.87 mph in 2017. The SSC Tuatara variants, however, will be very limited. Only 100 units of the Striker and standard version will enter the market with only 10 units of the Aggressor.

As one can expect, the SSC Tuatara variants are not going to be cheap. The base version of the vehicle already costs around US$1.6 million (AU$2.07 million). So, the variants are going to be priced higher. That is not surprising, considering the high performance that these vehicles will deliver.

In other news, Rolls-Royce Boat Tail just became the most expensive vehicle in the world. Featuring retro aesthetics with advanced features, this vehicle is a luxury that most people cannot afford.
