People who think that the MCU is almost real (because they want it to be) have been waiting for the opening of the Avengers Campus for months now. We have some bad news for you mates. The campus was supposed to open this July but the coronavirus, which has just been announced as a pandemic, will likely impact its opening plans. Read on for more information.

Due to the rising fear of the coronavirus spread, people have stopped visiting public places and are taking a lot of precautions. As a result, Disney has closed some of the theme parks. Seemingly, Orlando and Anaheim are keeping the mouse on the house.

The Executive Chairman of Disney Bob Iger and CEO of Disney Bob Chapek had announced July 18 to be the opening date of the Avengers Campus. The theme park section will provide an interactive experience to the Avengers and MCU fans. It will feature a restaurant with food in weird sizes, which obviously will make you think of Ant-Man and the Wasp. It will also have an outdoor photo area that is inspired by the Sanctum of Doctor Strange.

The coolest part of the Avengers Campus is the WEB – that stands for Worldwide Engineering Brigade. It will feature a Spider-Man ride where you will be able to sling your own webs at Spidey’s rebelling spider-bots!

Though the area of the Avengers Campus is pretty small at the moment, but there are plans to expand it with more creatively fun ideas like a Black Panther ride.

Sounds awesome? But there’s a catch. Nobody knows whether the construction of the Avengers Campus will be on time due to coronavirus fear or whether any theme park will have visitors in the near future if we fail to control the new pandemic. During the meeting, Igor did admit that the situation is serious, but he or Chapek didn’t comment on the future plans of the parks if the pandemic situation goes out of hand. Iger said “We’re all sobered by the concern that we feel for everyone affected by this global crisis.

There is no word on whether the plans to reference Avengers Campus in two other locations in Paris and Hong Kong are on track or not. All in all, everything is unclear now and will remain unclear until the pandemic is reasonably controlled. So, keep your fingers crossed!
