The space company by Jeff Bezos called Blue Origin is now ready to send astronauts into space. And if you have enough resources to fund your trip, you can become one of the first passengers of this rocket company.

Blue Origin just recently announced via press release that a seat for its first crewed mission will be auctioned. It stated that the flight will be roughly 11 minutes long, and it will take the crew to the edge of space 62 miles above the surface of the Earth.

While this might not sound a big deal, the distance is huge. Essentially, one would be in space just 62 miles above the Earth’s surface. And this is a height that people normally do not get to experience.

The company came into being in 2000. The owner Jeff Bezos had invested heavily into it, with a focus on the sale and manufacturing of rockets. Furthermore, Blue Origin by Jeff Bezos already had plans to launch space tourism programs for many years.

However, it took a while for the company to decide that it is the right time to begin space tourism. The lucky ones will become a part of the 20th of July mission. Perhaps, one of the most interesting things about this Blue Origin space trip is that it is scheduled on the 52nd anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landings.

The auction for the seat is divided into three phases. The first phase will begin Wednesday. Bids for a seat will be placed online on an official auction website. Then by 19th May, all the bids that people have placed will become visible. Then on 12th June, a live auction will take place.

Blue Origin by Jeff Bezos has stated that the sale proceeds will go to a science and tech foundation called Club for Future. This foundation is directly tied with Jeff Bezos. However, estimates regarding the seat have not been provided yet.

It is not just Jeff Bezos that is racing to conquer space. SpaceX by Elon Musk is also competing for the same. On the other hand, billionaires like Bill Gates are more focused on improving the conditions on Earth, via generous philanthropic projects.
