Elon Musk could be hinting that he will make the laws and rule Mars

Elon Musk: The Mars Colony Will Live By Its Own Set Of Space Laws

Have you recently downloaded the new Starlink app by SpaceX of Elon Musk. Well if yes, then you may have noticed something odd going on. For instance, according to the terms of service in the software, no law will be governing Mars. Is it okay for Elon Musk and SpaceX to enforce that idea?

However, the terms of SpaceX may partially be ignoring the laws of space that were made around 60 years back. Elon Musk mentioned very recently that there are chances of people dying on Mars. However, nobody would want to live in a Battle Royale like environment where there are no laws.

According to the terms, “For services provided on Mars, or in transit to Mars via Starship or other colonisation spacecraft, the parties recognise Mars as a free planet and that no Earth-based government has authority or sovereignty over Martian activities,’ the governing law section states.”

However, what Elon Musk is expecting can be considered nothing but wishful thinking. This is because major treaties have already been formed regarding what humans may or may not be able to do in the outer space.

However, the view that it is possible to travel to space and then colonize it simply reinforces the stereotypes regarding space colonization that many people have from decades. It simply makes the idea of space colonies less interesting.

Though at least we can expect that nobody will be travelling all the way out there for the sole purpose of ruling Mars. At least not anywhere in the near future. So, the new Martians may expect to live in peace. Although, without any laws or major reforms on the planet, it might be hard.

So, could Elon Musk and SpaceX form their own laws there as the Earth laws will definitely not apply on Mars. Could this mean that Elon Musk will be the president of Mars?

In other space news, it is not just Elon Musk who is interested in space travel. Looks like the idea of travelling into space is also being normalized by other organizations. For instance, SpaceX, NASA and Tom Cruise are already working on the first movie which will be filmed in space.
