Elon Musk was Spotted Driving a Tesla Cybertruck in Malibu California

Oh, and he hit a parking sign while driving it

On a luxurious trip to sushi restaurant Nobu in Malibu, California, Tesla CEO Elon Musk with Grimes and a few more passengers has recently been seen riding a Tesla Cybertruck. While the Cybertruck seemed to hold up like a rock, Musk’s driving was a bit on the shakey side, as the executive can be seen in the video footage below hitting a parking sign.

The Verge reports that the Musk sign knocked over was to let customers of Nobu know that they can only turn right when they leave the parking lot. Musk turned left and hit the sign.

Automakers usually run prototype vehicles on public roads before they are ready for production for testing purposes. In fact, there is an entire industry of people who go to great lengths to photograph these vehicles to get a sense of what car manufacturers have in store with their newest models, and car manufacturers typically respond by using all kinds of camouflage and fake bodywork to mislead prying eyes.

Since its recent launch, the James Bond car inspired, Tesla Cybertruck has already been driving on public roads, but this is the first time Musk has been seen driving the vehicle in person. According to The Verge, a manufacturer’s licence plate was issued to the Cybertruck prototype, enabling it to travel in the wild without official street-legal status. Before it is considered street-legal, the Tesla Cybertruck will need a lot of road-worthy features, including windshield wipers, driver’s side mirrors and dedicated headlights and warning lights.

The company has already received more than 250,000 Tesla Cybertruck pre-orders since the release just a few weeks ago.
