Everything We Know About The Witcher Animated Series So Far
The Witcher – Netflix

It’s time for more action and magic. The Witcher, one of the most popular series of recent times, is getting an animated film to keep the audience hooked. Rumours say that the animated film will be released prior to the second season of The Witcher which is slated to release in 2021. Here’s what we know so far about the animated version of The Witcher.

The confirmation of The Witcher animated series arrived last week when Netflix revealed that such a movie was in the works. This week, the streaming service has revealed the official synopsis of the series which says that the series won’t focus on Geralt but his mentor Vesemir.

The official synopsis of The Witcher animated series reads “Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Delgan claims him through the Law of Surprise.” Netflix has been keeping the details of the series under the wraps and giving out the titbits like the film sounds good or is exciting. Beau DeMayo probably wrote the script and animators at Studio Mir who animated The Legend of Korra will work on the film.

The news of The Witcher animated series has been doing the rounds since September last year, but things got more trustworthy on January 10 when a film title, known as The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf got listed on the WGA site.

Will Mark Hamill Join?

Since the news of The Witcher animated film has been getting popular, the fans are guessing who should play Vesemir. One name that many fans have come up with is Mark Hamill, who is best known as Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars films. The actor denied the claims that he has been approached for the film on Christmas Day 2019 when he tweeted:

The actor certainly seems a good choice for the animated version of The Witcher when you consider how amazing he was as a voice actor when he worked on Batman animated series from the ‘90s and the popular Arkham Asylum games.
