Sony has finally revealed what PlayStation 5 looks like during a PS5 live event. The design of the device is black and white, and it matches the new controller that will be included in the box. It has two versions, the pure digital edition and another with a 4K Blu-ray drive. It can stand vertically like the Xbox Series X.

The removal of drive in one of the versions of PlayStation 5 makes it thinner and might make it cheaper as well. As Sony hasn’t unveiled the pricing yet, we can only guess. Sony has only revealed the design during the live stream and has not even shared a release date as well.

The design of PlayStation 5 means it can be placed underneath a monitor or TV, either horizontally or vertically. The device also comes with a stand. However, stand for the Digital Edition is slightly different. The top of PlayStation 5 has vents for heat dissipation while the USB-A and USB-C ports are located at the front.

The company has created many accessories for PlayStation 5, which includes a new HD camera, a DualSense charging station, a media remote, and a Pulse 3D wireless headset. Sony hasn’t announced the prices of these accessories as well

Sony’s PlayStation 5 design reveal comes months after Microsoft unveiled its next-gen console, Xbox Series X, in December last year.

Sharing details of the PlayStation 5 in a blog, Sony said, “At PS5’s launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation 5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition without a disc drive. The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation.”
