In a bizarre development, many people believe that the scariest movie ever made is not a horror film. Instead, it’s a war-based film titled Come and See that was released in 1985. The movie focused on the Nazi German occupation of Belarus and revolved around the story of Florya, a Belarusian boy.

The plot of this scariest movie ever revolves around how the boy decides to join the Partisans’ fight against Nazi Germany and the occupation of the Soviet Union’s Eastern regions. He does so against his mother’s wishes.

Come and See was considered the scariest movie ever, thanks to a YouTuber, Professor Jelkington, who posted a video about the film that got viral. The video was even titled The Scariest Film Ever Made ISN’T a Horror Film.

The video was posted in 2018, and since then, it has received 5 million views and 172,000 likes, and just 4,100 dislikes. It’s clear that the audience agrees that the scariest movie ever is Come and See.

Professor Jelkington highlighted that the scariest movie ever is shot like a horror flick, and the acting will also make you think of horror films. He said, “The film was produced very much like a horror film rather than a war film. Instead of focusing on showing large set-piece battles, Come and See focuses solely on Florya’s struggles, choosing to depict events from his somewhat subjective perspective rather than an omniscient perspective typical of war films. All of the filmmaking aspects from the cinematography, sound, acting, and even the makeup resemble what you would see in a horror film rather than a war film.”

The scariest movie ever

Some experts believe that the movie’s realism and the references to mass killings are two factors that make it the scariest movie ever made. The movie shows the horrors humans are capable of. The movie also reminds people that people lose their humanity in war, and if the situation presents itself again and again, humans will forget humanity again and again. Directed by Elem Klimov, the film will keep you hooked till the end.

Just recently, the trailer of Dexter Season 9 have been released.
