Episode 2 of Loki ended with variant Loki following Lady Loki into a portal. From her expressions, it seemed that she was beckoning him to follow her. In Loki episode 3, it turns out that was not the case at all.

Spoilers to Loki episode 3 beyond this point

In episode 3, it became clear that she went to the HQ of TVA and wanted nothing more to create more chaos. The Loki Variant did not let her do that.

Loki episode 3 also shows that Loki and Lady Loki (who wants to be known as Sylvie) have a common goal. They want to free themselves from the TVA and meet the timekeepers. After some entertaining fight sequences, both of them land at Lamentis, a dying alien world.

As their TemPad has run out of power, Loki and Sylvie have no choice to work as a team and charge it so that they can get away from the dying planet. To develop trust in such a delicate situation, the two takes the opportunity to know each other but the conversation really never goes really deep. Loki remembers his mother and tells Sylvie that she taught him magic. Sylvie, however, remains tight-lipped and does not reveal her secrets in Loki episode 3, which makes it quite frustrating.

In episode 3, Loki does reveal himself to be canonically bisexual, in another one of Disney’s quick moments of LGBT representation. Sylvie also reveals in Loki episode 3 she hates being called Loki or a Loki variant and wants to be perceived as unique.

To continue, Sylvie also reveals that all the time cops working for the TVA are ordinary humans whose minds have been wiped so that they think they have always worked for TVA and forget their human lives. The TVA also seems an evil organization as they slaughter not just variants but entire universes and timelines to ensure that the sacred timeline is followed. If that is true, it will make them more devious than Thanos.

Two interesting things worth mentioning in Loki episode 3 are Sylvie’s sword and her headgear. She wields a sword that has runes that remind us of Asgard, and second, the left tusk of her headgear is broken. These are not explained well by the showrunners yet, and just three episodes are left before the series wraps up. We hope the next three episodes will be more interesting than the fast-paced Loki episode 3 that left many questions unanswered.

Elsewhere in the entertainment world, the new trailer of The Suicide Squad is out now.
